Running MOGAS and AVGAS Calibration (Read 342 times)

I calibrated my fuel tanks using AVGAS 100 LL however I think I will now be mostly burning MOGAS.

I know the readings will be off when uploading "other" fuel so I was wondering what would be the best technique...Calibrate for MOGAS...or...Calibrate for AVGAS?

I anticipate that I will be using MOGAS more however it might be best to calibrate for the fuel that will read lower on the gauges so when there is 100 percent of the "other" fuel or a mix of both in the tanks.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!

If you have float sensors, you are done.

If you have float sensors you're golden, as mentioned above. If you have capacitance senders, you're going to have difficulties - see my thread here on the Vans forum about that.

My sensors are capacitance probes so hence the delema.

There also is some discussion on this forum. There was a solution offered where you could use two different calibrations. You might also want to change the color of the fuel gauge so that you know which calibration you are using.
